The genesis of my work as a fabric artist was with my grandmother who spun wool to knit the family's socks and sweaters. It continued through my mother who found joy in dressing me in pretty clothes as a child. Their textile applications, both utilitarian and aesthetic, piqued my early interest in creating my own artistic expression.

One of my greatest pleasure is to cut textiles into little pieces and sew them back together making new and unusual fabrics of my own creation. Many of the fabrics that I use are not traditional quilting fabrics. I dye and add surface design to many of the fabrics and I love to use varied textures and unusual color combinations in my work.

Most of my art reflects my life in Southwestern Missouri in a rural area that overlooks Lake Stockton. My interests in travel, gardening, and photography are a part of my work along with events such as a tornado that destroyed much of our small community in 2003.
